Protecting children from the risk of radicalisation is seen as part of schools’ wider safeguarding duties, and is similar in nature to protecting children from other forms of harm and abuse. From 1 July 2015 schools have been subject to a duty under section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015, to have “due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism”. This duty is known as the Prevent duty. Please find a parent leaflet explaining what the Prevent duty means for our school via the Statutory web site items tab on this page.
Parents, carers and children are welcome to join us every Thursday at 8:45am in the Oratory. Free rosaries and prayer cards available.
Non Uniform Day
This Friday is an own clothes day for those children who bring in any FULL bottles of drink for our Christmas fayre bottle tombola.
OUR CHRISTMAS FAYRE IS FAST APPROACHING
Your Friends Association Committee is busy preparing for the Christmas Fayre and we hope that all families in the school will give their support.
Mr Beck has kindly agreed to two “own clothes days” for the children – Friday 27th November will be our day for donations of bottles and Friday 4th December we will be asking for donations of cakes and chocolates. On those two mornings (from 8.30am) we need parents to help receive, sort and move all these items to storage – can you spare some time? ……. (on one or both mornings).
Would you or your company like to sponsor a stall? Or would you like to reserve a table to sell you own Christmas goodies? (vendors may like to avoid selling items/goods that the Friends Association stalls will already be providing at the Fayre – ask for details when reserving your table).
REMEMBER all the money raised, from the support of parents and their families, will go back into the school to benefit all the children that attend St James the Great.
