Reporting to ParentsInformal communication with parents is greatly valued at St. James the Great. There are, however, three times in the year when parents are given a specific evening appointment to enable them to meet their child's class teacher in a more formal setting. The first of these evenings is in the Autumn term, and is designed to give parents an opportunity to talk to the teacher and to find out how their child has settled into a new class. This is not an occasion to view your child's work, unless it is specifically selected by the teacher to illustrate a point. A further open evening takes place in the Spring term at which your child's work is available for you to see. This is followed by discussion with the class teacher. Towards the end of the Summer term there is a third meeting at which a written report on your child is available. This forms the basis for discussion, together with the work that has been made available for you to see. School RecordsAny parent wishing to see the records which are kept about their child as they progress through the school should contact the Headteacher. DocumentsDocuments and policies relating to the school and/or the Education Acts 1988 and 1993 are available to parents by arrangement with the Headteacher. |
