School Organisation

St. James the Great is a two-form entry school comprising six infant and eight junior classes.

The children are organised in mixed ability classes, where they will be grouped in different ways according to the teaching and learning taking place. In addition the school has a Nursery Class.

School Teams

These are named after the four patron Saints of the British Isles. On admission to school, children are allocated to one of four teams:

• St. Andrew (blue)
• St. George (red)
• St. Patrick (green)
• St. David (yellow)

These groupings are used at various times including Sports Day, Assemblies etc.
