Information Technology

Following the publication of this brochure St. JAmes the Great school has undergone significant chnges in their facilities for ICT. The information contained on page 13 of our prospectus is now, therefore, out of date.

The school is fully networked with ADSL connection to the classrooms each of which have 2 PCs. As part of this network we have a 32 machine computer room with scanners, networked colour laser printer and digital cameras. To assist teachers with presenting lessons as well as for pupils to run PowerPoint presentations, we have a digital projector and interactive white board. To ensure clarity of instruction for all pupils a radio microphone sound system has been installed in the ICT room.

Our Scheme of Work was highly praised by Ofsted and is supported with a wide selection of cross curicular software.

All teaching staff underwent ICT training to Government recommended standards during the accademic year 1999/2000. A significant number of support staff have also taken paart in this training. In 2001/2002 many staff completed the BCS European Computer Driving License which was also open to the local community.
