Year Five - Example One

 

The Colour Catcher

A stranger called this morning

Dressed all in black and grey

Put every colour in a bag

Then carried them away.

The tongue tingling red

Of the strawberry ice-lolly,

The sizzling, smooth orange

Of the beautiful small collie.

The lovely luscious yellow

Of the painted walls,

The cool calm greeny-blue

Of the Niagara Falls.

The precious purply indigo

Of the tiny falling flower,

The strong strengthening violet

Of the punching power.

The cool, kicking pink

Of the sun-setting,

The shimmering, shining gold

Of the penny in the betting.

A stranger called this morning

He didn't tell us where he went

Just carried them away.
