Topics

Forces, Weather, Decay, Rainforests, Ancient Greeks, Bones.

(Parents should note, however, that the Numeracy and Literacy development mean that less time can be given to such topics and accordingly they may not be covered to the same degree as in the past.)

Discipline Policy

Class rules have been composed and agreed by all of us.

Sanctions

If a tick is recorded next to a pupils name the pupil will miss 5 minutes playtime

If two ticks are recorded next to a pupils name the pupil will miss 10 minutes playtime

If three ticks are recorded next to a pupils name the pupil will miss their whole playtime

Four ticks will result in the pupil being referred to the Headteacher

Rewards

Team points, class certificates, verbal praise.

Groupings

Children are placed in ability groups across the year for both literacy and numeracy.

PE Kit

Must be in school Monday to Friday to enable children's full participation. Tracksuit - plain navy blue jogging bottoms and school sweatshirt.

Swimming

One piece costumes only. Long hair must be tied back. One and a half terms each.

Jewellery

Only a watch and, for girls, one pair of stud earrings may be worn.

  4. Rainbow Theatre Visits
  5. Natural History Museum.

Whenever possible, by appointment. If urgent - 9.00-9.10 am.

Timekeeping

Children should not be at school before 9 am. They must go straight to the playground and be ready to line up when the bell rings. Lessons begin promptly at 9.15 am, so its very important for children to be on time. School ends at 3.30 pm and children should be collected promptly. This also applies to end of after school club sessions.

IEPs

Children identified as having Special Educational Needs will be provided with additional support as required. This may include the provision of an Individual Education Plan, which parents will be asked to sign following the agreement of its contents with Mrs Tuck.
